In the interesting plain of Albenga, at the foot of the Lavander experimental field, a space is born where inside there is an olfactometer with the main essences of the historical and recent varieties of lavender and a collection of the main aromatic herbs of the area.
This space has taken the name of “Bicocca” because the project has as partner the cultural association Arcimboldo which among its initiatives has that of recovering the old traditions of the Ligurian valleys and hinterland and then historically it was called Bicocca (that of Milan) the noble villa built as a country residence of the Arcimboldi family.
Today the Bicocca, here in Albenga, wants to be a reference point for lavender products, a point of history of the project next to the experimental field with the various types of lavender and a convenient point for schools and the curious who want to deepen the culture of our lands.
You will discover the different distillation techniques and the secrets of a good distillation, with a practical demonstration with a copper or steel still in a steam current (ancient traditional distillation) of medicinal plants
In addition, information will be given regarding aromatherapy and chemotypes, the uses of essential oils, analyzes and characteristics of each species.
