2 nights in Florence, 1 night in Lucca, 2 nights in San Gimignano, 3 nights in Siena
Day 1 – Florence: Arrive at Florence airport and pick up of your rental car. Drive to hotel and overnight in hotel
Day 2 – Florence: Day dedicated to the visit of the capital of Renaissance. In the morning guided walking tour with the visit of the Galleria dell’Accademia where the famous statue of David is located (included) . Afternoon at leisure to deepen the visit of the city and its renown Museums. Overnight.
Day 3 – Florence – Pisa – Lucca: Drive to Pisa for the visit of the Piazza dei Miracoli, a walled 8.87-hectare area recognized as an important center of European medieval art and one of the finest architectural complexes in the world. (The Duomo, the Baptistery and the Leaning Tower – Unesco Site). After the visit short drive to Lucca. In the evening guided walking tour of the city (included). Overnight.
Day 4 – Lucca – San Gimignano: Drive East towards San Gimignano via San Miniato, an historically strategic village atop three small hills where it dominates the lower Arno valley, between the valleys of Egola and Elsa rivers and Certaldo, small medieval town. Time for a stroll and an ice cream in the beautiful San Gimignano. Overnight
Day 5 – San Gimignano (Volterra): Visit of San Gimignano, magic medieval town, encircled by 13th-century walls with its old town centers on Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square lined with medieval houses. It has a skyline of medieval towers, including the stone Torre Grossa. The Duomo di San Gimignano is a 12th-century church with frescoes by Ghirlandaio in its Santa Fina Chapel. In the afternoon drive to Volterra, ancient walled town. The central Palazzo dei Priori has medieval frescoes and a bell tower with expansive views. Volterra Cathedral has a marble entrance and a gilded coffered ceiling. The Roman Theater complex includes the ruins of 3rd-century baths. Overnight.
Day 6 – San Gimignano – Chianti – Siena: Driving in the heart of the Chianti Region, many occasion to stop and have wine tastings. Stop in Monteriggioni before reaching Siena. Overnight
Day 7 – Siena: Day dedicated to the visit of Siena with a walking tour in the morning (included). Afternoon at leisure. In the evening “Typical dining experience with cooking demo” (included). Overnight
Day 8 – Siena (Montepulciano and Montalcino): Full day of culture, wine, and delicious food as you visit some of the most impressive destinations in Tuscany. Drive first to Montalcino. Then visit Pienza and Montepulciano, two artistic jewels, representing the landscape of the Val d’Orcia. Proceed to Montepulciano where the stateliness of its Renaissance buildings and the refined beauty of its churches intertwined with the ancient tradition of its wine, Nobile di Montepulciano, a symbol of the city as well as the delight of your palate. Drive back to Siena. Overnight.
Day 9 – Siena/Florence: Drive to Florence airport to return your rental car and depart on your flight
