You start cycling among the magnificent massif walls of the Dolomites, which offer some of the most spectacular views among the mountain landscapes. One of these are the famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo, which you’ll admire from the Landro Valley. Then, going downhill, you’ll arrive in the elegant Cortina d’Ampezzo, renowned sport resort, located in a breathtaking mountain scenery, until you’ll get to Pieve di Cadore. Further southwards the hilly vineyards of Valdobbiadene, the region of Prosecco wine, will invite you to stop and taste this well-known sparkling wine. Finally, cycling in the Po Valley, you’ll reach the Venetian lagoon and the wonderful Venice, a town that has lured passersby for centuries (and still does).

Day 4 –  Bolzano – Brunico – Dobbiaco/San Candido (30 km)

In the morning a private transfer brings you to Brunico, a lively town with a historical centre and rural surroundings. The route is on a slightly uphill bicycle path along the river Rienz, that leads to Dobbiaco/San Candido, close to the Austrian border. Overnight.

Day 5 –  Dobbiaco/San Candido – Cadore valley (45/65 km)

You’ll leave the Puster Valley and enter the Landro Valley with the famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo, cycling slightly uphill till the Cimabanche pass, along the cycle path of the Long Way of the Dolomites. A panoramic descent will bring you to Cortina d’Ampezzo and finally to the Cadore valley. Overnight.

Day 6 – Cadore valley – Belluno (65/45 km)

Today you’ll follow the river Piave, the Italian so called “sacred river”, due to the battles fought in this area during the first world war. In the last part of the Long
Way of the Dolomites you’ll cycle on secondary roads with some up- and downhill and you’ll get to Longarone, sadly known for the Vajont disaster. Finally you’ll
reach Belluno. Overnight

Day 7 –  Belluno – Valdobbiadene (60 km)

Today you’ll leave the Piave valley and cross the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park; you’ll cycle on low traffic hills, with many panoramic glimpses. From
Cesiomaggiore, where you can visit the historic museum of the bicycle, you’ll continue to Busche and then along the river Piave you’ll reach Valdobbiadene, in
the heart of the famous land of Prosecco. Don’t miss wine tasting here! Overnight

Cycling among vineyards and farmed fields you’ll cross the Piave river and then will ride uphill to Asolo, one of the most beautiful hamlets of Italy. Then you’ll continue on the cycle path up to Treviso, with its canals, the weeping willows and water mills. Overnight

Day 9 –   Treviso – Mestre/Venice (45 km)

Leaving Treviso behind you, follow the course of the river Sile up to Casale. Here you’ll be surprised by the “Cimitero dei Burci”, a “graveyard” of old cargo boats, abandoned along the river since the Sixties, to protest against the rise of wheel transport. At the end of the trip the endless beauty of Venice awaits you. Accommodation is in Mestre. Overnight
