3 days/2 nights itinerary from CATANIA
Day 1: Catania – Etna
Pick up in Catania and transfer towards the Etna wine destination. Since the transfer is a short one (less than 1 hour), we’ll be firstly visit what we call “Agrumeto” at Tenuta del Gelso. Nestled by bougainvillea, the manor house dominates the entire property, gently surrounded by its 65 hectares of citrus grove and preserving – inside – the ancient millstone, the fulcrum of the wine business of the past and, therefore, of today’s experience. It is precisely here, in fact, that the journey begins: under a centuries-old wisteria, an opening in the millstone that climbed around the ankles of the women who climbed the side stairs to throw the contents of the harvest through the windows. A faithful story and detail of the family history embellished with personalized wine proposals including nineteenth-century presses, tanks and plasters that still bear the signs of dripping of the pomace. We’ll discover the importance of citrus in the food heritage of Sicily, before heading towards Terra Costantino for lunch.
We will take a walk in the vineyard and we will tell you about the native varieties and organic farming techniques. We will climb up to the ancient millstone to learn about the history of traditional winemaking. We will proceed to visit the underground cellar to show you the volcanic subsoil through the sections of the soil, describe you our production techniques and show you our barrel cellar. We will conclude with the tasting of 4 wines served with different types of BIO ancient grain bread cooked in a wood oven and organic EVO oil. Following a lunch in the cellar with local and seasonal products: a vegetarian welcome snack, a first course, a local BIO cheeses and meat board, pairing with honey and jam from Etna.

Day 2: Etna Wine Day Tour
We have to admit: we’ve a passion for volcanic wines and with this tour we want you to discover the essence of Etna wine destination. Today You’ll be visit Bronte in the morning, with a focus on the Pistacchio, before moving towards LinguaGlossa for Palmento Costanzo wine tasting and lunch and Emilio Sciacca discovery.
We get back to the hotel in the afternoon and dinner.
