Individual tour – Minimum 2 people

This flexible trip with options of shorter and longer walks is all about enjoying the Italian way of life, the sun and the sea. Visit the panoramic Amalfi Coast and the magnificent Gulf of Naples with Capri and the volcanic Mt. Vesuvius towering in the horizon. Spend the day walking on the Jet set island of Capri, then walk along scenic coastal paths of the gods, visit bustling fishing villages and go for a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean

Day 1 – Arrival in Naples

Arrival at Naples airport. Private transfer to the hotel reserved. Rest of the day at disposal to visit the city. We can book visits and activities. Overnight

Day 2 – Naples – Sorrento

Private transfer to Sorrento. As soon as you get settled in your accommodation, step outside and breathe in the incredibly fresh, crisp air of the Mediterranean Sea. In the afternoon you can visit the historic centre, and in the evening, let all your senses be delighted as you prepare for your phenomenal walking adventure ahead. Overnight

Day 3 – Capri day trip with selection of walks

Take the ferry from the port of Sorrento to Capri Island, the pearl of the Bay of Naples. Here you have a choice of two walks, a short easy walk to visit Emperor Tiber’s villa or a longer coastal walk from the hill town of Anacapri down to the west coast, with the option of an additional easy panoramic coastal walk to the Blue Grotto. On the island you can use the public bus or cable car to travel around. In the late afternoon return to Sorrento by ferry. Overnight

Walk A: Roman Villa Jovis (Tiberio) walk – This is an easy walk that goes from the town of Capri to the Roman Villa Jovis from where Emperor Tiberio is said to have thrown his rivals and unwanted guests off the cliff. Walk along paved and cobbled lanes lined with luxurious gardens, and take in great views of the western side of the island and the Gulf of Naples.

Challenge: 1.5 hours, 5.3 km, 239m ascent, 238m descent

Walk B: From Anacapri to Punta Carena – A really spectacular walk with really great views of the Faraglioni, Capri, the Gulf of Naples and the imposing cliffs between Monte Solaro and Punta Carena. The recommended starting point, Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri, is where most tourists arrive by public transport. From Anacapri a 2 kilometer climb brings you to the top of Monte Solaro. You can also take the cable car from WP2 to WP9. Alternatively from WP8 you can make a 400m detour to reach WP40 from where you can enjoy exceptional views. Following the panoramic cliff edge a gentle descent brings you to Punta Carena. The trail runs a few meters from the cliff edge – but it may pose a problem for those suffering vertigo. It is also possible to start the walk in Capri; from here the walk is quite steep – there is a section where you need to scramble using your hands. This route gives you spectacular views of Capri and the eastern part of the island. From Punta Carena you return by bus to Anacapri where you change bus to reach Capri or Marina Grande OR you can continue walking to the Blue Grotto.

Challenge: 1.5-2 hours, 6.5 km, 278m ascent, 559m descent

Walk C: Extension to Blue Grotto from Punta Carena – This is one of the most picturesque trails on the island. The path gently contours the coast offering spectacular sea views from the cliffs and 19th century military forts. From the end of the walk take the local bus to Piazza della Pace, Anacapri.

Challenge: 1.5-2 hours, 6 km, 279m ascent, 283m descent

Day 4 – Walk from Sorrento to Marina del Cantone via Termini

A private transfer takes you from Sorrento to Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi from where you walk to the wonderful beach at Marina del Cantone. The day’s itinerary offers spectacular views of the Island of Capri, the Amalfi Coast, the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. If you would like to walk more (about 5 km), you can walk all the way from Sorrento to Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi. This walk starts with a long staircase then winds its way through lemon groves on narrow country lanes. The Baia di Jeranto has been closed due to last year fire on Monte San Costanzo.

OPTION 1 – WALK FROM TERMINI TO MARINA DEL CANTONE – You are transferred from Sorrento to Termini, then you walk to Marina del Cantone via Punta Campanelle.

Challenge: 3 hours, 10.3km, 445m ascent, 750m descent

OPTION 2 – WALK FROM SANT’AGATA TO MARINA DEL CANTONE – If you want to make the walk longer, you can ask the driver to drop you off in Sant’Agata and walk to Marina del Cantone via Termini and Punta Campanelle.

Challenge: 5-6hours, 17.5km, 507m ascent, 875m descent

OPTION 3 – WALK FROM SORRENTO TO MARINA DEL CANTONE – You can walk all the way from Sorrento to Marina del Cantone without the transfer. In this case inform the driver.

Challenge: 7-8 hours, 22.3 km, 846m ascent, 632m descent

Day 5 – Baia di Jeranto loop

The day’s walk takes you to the lovely Bay of Jeranto offering great views on the Island of Capri and the Amalfi Coast and ample time to go for a dip in the Mediterranean blue sea. Overnight.

Challenge: 3 hours, 8.5 km, 549m ascent, 549m descent

Day 6 –   Walk Sant’Agata to Colli San Pietroand and local bus to Amalfi

A private transfer will lead you to Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi from where you walk to Colli San Pietro, located slightly inland and high above the coastline. Today’s picturesque walk is along old country lanes and footpaths through terraced fields, olive and lemon groves that open out onto the Mediterranean. Here you can clearly smell the wild flowers and Mediterranean scrub. In the afternoon take a local bus to Amalfi where you will be staying for 3 nights.

Challenge: 2.5 hours, 9.5 km, 329m ascent, 416m descent

Day 7 – Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods)

This is the most famous of all the walks on the Amalfi coast along the Sentiero degli Dei, the Path of the Gods. Immense coastal panoramas and a high cliff coastline will accompany you from Bomerano, (that you reach with the local bus from Amalfi), all the colourful village of Positano perched on the side of the mountain. From Positano take a local bus back to Amalfi.

Challenge: 3.5 – 4 hours, 12.6 km, 70m ascent, 711m descent

Day 8 –  A selection of round walk in Amalfi

Today you can choose from two walks though the Valle delle Ferriere. A short easy circular walk gives you plenty of time in the afternoon to explore Amalfi or take the local bus up to Ravello, which is worthwhile visiting. The longer walk will satisfy even the most demanding walker with its spectacular views of the Bay of Salerno and the high cliffs of the Amalfi coast. Overnight.

WALK A – Short loop circular walk (6 km) – An easy walk that takes you from Amalfi to Pontone through the Grevone Valley on a gradually ascending path through the gorge. Along the way you will encounter the remains of the iron quarries (ferriere) and the ancient water powered mills (mulini) which once produced Amalfi’s famous paper. From WP10 and Pontone you have a nice panoramic view on the Valle delle Ferriere and Amalfi.

Challenge: 2 hours, 6 km, 452m ascent, 452m descent

WALK B – Longer circular walk (12,8 km) – You can start in Amalfi but if you want to avoid a 1.5 km steep climb, take a public bus from Amalfi to Pontone and start walking from there. The itinerary offers great views of the gorge and of Amalfi, especially after Pontone. In general, the climbs and descents are gradual. You can also shorten the walk and avoid the last descent to Amalfi by taking the public bus in Pogerola

Challenge: 3.5-4 hours, 12.8 km, 350m ascent, 650m descent

Day 10 –  Amalfi / departure

The trip and our services end after breakfast. Private transfer to Naples city or airport for departure or proceed with your trip in Italy
