Meeting with our guide in Busseto and departure to the land in the surroundings of Parma called “Terre Verdiane” (Giuseppe Verdi Lands); The tour will touch all the places where Giuseppe Verdi left his mark: the birthplace house in the little countryside village of Roncole Verdi, the Verdi Theatre in Busseto dedicated to him by the town (with and exclusive visit in costume including singing of excerpts from Verdi’s operas), Casa Barezzi Museum where he lived for some years and fell in love with Margherita; Lunch at an amazing location where the famous “Culatello di Zibello” is made. Visit to the medieval aging cellars where more than 6.000 hams rest followed by typical lunch including the cured meats that Giuseppe Verdi as well used to love; In the afternoon: visit the brand new museum dedicated to the great soprano Renata Tebaldi, protagonist with “La Callas” of the postwar Opera scene; The final visit of this journey will be to the elegant Villa Verdi in Sant’Agata where the Maestro lived in his old age. Among the most important relics are the pianos, the stucco bust of Giuseppina as a young woman by Tenerani, Manzoni autographs, period photos, Verdi’s musical library, and many other profoundly evocative souvenirs.
